Psychology Club 2008

Officers: Kari Montie, President; Amanda Wipperfurth, Vice-President; Secretaries, Jaci Koble and Courtney Laundrie; Sari Shovers, Treasurer. Email Psychology Club President Kari Montie for more information.

The Psychology Club is open to all students majoring in, or interested in, psychology.  It provides its members with the opportunity to organize and participate in events related to the field: events such as psychology-related movies, guest speakers, and community service projects. New members, along with new ideas, are always welcome.

Psi Chi Honor Society

Edgewood's chapter of Psi Chi, the national honor society in Psychology, was approved in 2006 and inducted its first members that May. Membership is by invitation and students are required to be in the upper one-third of their class in overall GPA.

Psi Chi was founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is open to graduate and undergraduate men and women who are making the study of psychology one of their major interests, and who meet the qualifications.

Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Psychological Science (APS). Psi Chi's sister honor society is Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for community and junior colleges.
