As an undergraduate student, I drifted between various career paths. Initially, I was declared as an accounting major, although after a study abroad opportunity, I decided that my interest in social psychology was more appealing. I experimented with several courses the next semester and became completely fascinated with social development, and ultimately with a major in psychology.

Initially, I was declared as an accounting major, although after a study abroad opportunity, I decided that my interest in social psychology was more appealing. I experimented with several courses the next semester and became completely fascinated with social development, and ultimately with a major in psychology.

Following graduation, I spent some time working in the field of developmental disabilities and deciding on a graduate plan. I had considered pursuing my doctorate in clinical psychology, but in the end decided I was less interested in research and testing, and more in psychotherapeutic intervention.

I didn't start out with the intention to study Psychology. I was originally hoping to become a nurse. As I attended classes a clear interest evolved around classes focused on the world around me, teaching me about the people I interact with every day.

Within the first week of classes, I had a bona fide epiphany experience. I recall my attention drifting from lecture to think "This is it. This is what I have always wanted to study and do.

Originally when starting at Edgewood, I thought I would be a business major. However, after taking my Psychology 101 class, I knew that psychology was the area that I wanted to focus on.

Beginning in high school, I was fascinated with the study of human behavior and clinical research. After taking a few psychology courses in my freshman year of college, I knew that the unique combination of studying research methods and behavior was the right path for me.

I find Psychology fascinating, and the Psychology coursework at Edgewood very interesting and engaging. I originally started out as a Sociology major; after taking introductory courses in both Psychology and Sociology, I switched my major.
